In the next few weeks, some good friends
are having public showings of their art and acting,
SO I want to
encourage everyone to go and support our friends in the arts.
The Blue Tower Gallery. First is the opening of
the Blue Tower Gallery in the West End. The charming and lovely
Sandi Billingsly will be one of the artists
featured at Blue Tower Gallery's "A Collection of Eclectic Art,"
showcasing her vivid paintings as well as a new series of
challenging black and white works. The opening is Saturday March
1st, free to the public from 12 to 9 with a complimentary
reception from 7 to 9. There will be a party from 9 to 2,
which is $10 including drinks. I believe the gallery is also
open to the public Sunday as well.
Directions:
Take 75/85 South to I20 West.
Take Lee Street Exit (#558) and take a left onto Lee.
At the second signal turn left onto Ralph David
Abernathy.
At the second signal take a right onto Murphy
Avenue.
(Murphy is just beyond the bridge, so look
sharp!)
Turn left into the Chandler-Smith Warehouses.
There
should be someone directing you in to building A6.
Call (678)
910-8590 or (770) 630-3052 for more info.
Hamlet in repertory with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are
Dead. Second is the dual showing of Hamlet and
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Vision Quest
Theater Company. Local actor, director, artist and
artificial intelligence guru Jim Davies is in this repertory
production of these complementary plays, with the same actors
playing the same roles on alternate
nights:
http://www.visionquesttheater.com/calendar.html
According
to Jim, "... the opening nights are Thursday the 20th (Hamlet) and Friday the 21st
(Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). There will be free wine and
dessert and after R & G on the 21st there will be a DJed dance party.
Tickets are $25 dollars per person per show. If you get a group of
15 or more, and pay in advance for a performance, you can get a
group discount of $2 off per ticket. I recommend seeing Hamlet
first, because R & G makes much more sense that way."
To sum up. There is no sum up.
That's all for now, folks. Enjoy.
