She\u2019d requisitioned a large cooking kettle from Leonid and filled it with biosludge, then heated it to the proper activation temperature. With a droplet from her nanoseed and the right dopants, Serendipity should be able to generate enough nanoplasm to make anything.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow do you figure,\u201d Serendipity said, stirring the cauldron slowly.<\/p>\n
\u201cBubble, bubble, toil and trouble,\u201d Dijo said, raising a cylinder. \u201cYou\u2019re making potions. You\u2019ve got a familiar. You have what seem, to us technological primitives at least, like magic powers. All you need is a witches\u2019 hat and a magic broom\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy mom wears the hats,\u201d Serendipity said, \u201cbut I do have a farstaff.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt can fly?\u201d Dijo said, shocked. \u201cNot just teleport you, but actually fly?<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt can indeed,\u201d Serendipity said, taking the cylinder. \u201cMolybdenum. Excellent.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAmmonium tetrathiomolybdate in solution,\u201d Dijo said. \u201cThat\u2019s from the hyperdrive, by the way, so don\u2019t go using it medicinally unless you separate it first.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cWhy would I use it\u2014oh, copper toxosis,\u201d Serendipity said.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cDo you really have a ship\u2019s worth of Lore rattling around in your head?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
