MacArthur,<\/a> went well. In a weird bit of synergy, an audiobook I was reading, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegreatcourses.com\/tgc\/Courses\/course_detail.aspx?cid=8490\">Victorian Britain<\/a> in the Great Courses series, had a section on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Florence_Nightingale\">Florence Nightingale<\/a> which was not just directly relevant \u2026 it played just as I was driving up to the hotel. Perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, Sunday, May 25th, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clockworkalchemy.com\/#\/events-and-exhibits\/panels\/panels\">I will be appearing on the panels<\/a> <i>Avoiding Historical Mistakes<\/i> at noon in the Monterey Room (it is rumored that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harry_Turtledove\">Harry Turtledove<\/a> will be on the panel as well) and <i>Victorian Technology<\/i> at 2pm in the San Carlos room (not 1 as I said earlier), and giving a solo talk on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dresan.com\/science\/airships\/\">The Science of Airships<\/a> at 4pm also at San Carlos.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the time, I will largely be at my table above, which will look more or less like you see it above, except I may be wearing a different outfit. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p>-the Centaur<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s talk on Real Women of the Victorian Era, led by the redoubtable T.E.
