Quick Sharpie sketch of Dakota Frost, based on the model from the BLOOD ROCK \/ LIQUID FIRE covers. I tried to do this upside down at first, to “see” it better, and OH BOY it did not turn out well – the landscape was all off. So this is an even quicker sketch, because I need to get to bed early.<\/p>\n

Also, Camp Nano only got ~150 added words, but again, I need sleep. Rough draftiness:<\/p>\n
\u201cYour voice,\u201d the priest said, taking another step back. \u201cIf not a vampire, surely \u2026 surely not a werewolf \u2026 but your voice \u2026 why do I know your voice?\u201d<\/p>\n
I spun, rolling my neck, unfurling more vines into a soft green halo that lit my face.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you know me now?\u201d I asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh \u2026 God,<\/em>\u201d the priest said. \u201cYou were on the news, the mother of that weretiger\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat I am, and if she is here,\u201d I said, \u201cyou should point the way \u2026 then run.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe \u2026 here?\u201d The priest blinked, then his eyes flicked at the coffin. \u201cBut it\u2019s not\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
My heart fell. The prisoner in the coffin was not Cinnamon\u2014but as the priest\u2019 eyes went wide in terror, I realized that in his shock he\u2019d given away there was a prisoner in that coffin<\/em>. I drew a breath, my face flushing, feeling my blood pounding in my ears.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Hopefully I’ll pick up speed now that I’m out of the Lenten “Jesus and Godel” series. I wrote 45,000 words of nonfiction in Lent, which is nowhere near the needed Nano rate, but I think is probably the fastest rate and largest single body of nonfiction writing I’ve done since perhaps my thesis.<\/p>\n
But what I really did today was move boxes into the room that’s going to become my wife’s art studio.<\/p>\n
Drawing, writing, moving every day.<\/p>\n
