Let me leave you with a teaser, the scene I&#8217;m working on right now &#8211; the Stanford Department of Alchemy, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dakotafrost.com\/2009\/11\/liquid-fire-nanowrimo-2009-victory.html\">LIQUID FIRE<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dresan.com\/images\/stanford-alchemy.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dresan.com\/images\/stanford-alchemy.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"stanford department of alchemy\" width=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMagicians have survived by being secretive,\u201d Devenger said, folding his arms sternly. \u201c<em>You<\/em>, I can find out anything I want on Wikipedia, including pictures of your tattoos good enough to reverse-engineer some of their logic\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWait, back up. <em>I<\/em> have a <em>Wikipedia<\/em> page?\u201d I said, laughing. \u201cBullshit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Devenger\u2019s salt-and-pepper eyebrows lifted. \u201cAnd I thought you were web savvy. Haven\u2019t you ever Googled yourself?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And with that he turned to the screen, tapped out my name, and ten seconds later had found a Wikipedia page on <strong>Dakota Caroline Frost<\/strong>, complete with that same old out-of-date picture everyone scarfed from the Rogue Unicorn web site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamn,\u201d I said, leaning over his shoulder. \u201cThat\u2019s me all right\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDown to a list of your tattoos,\u201d Devenger said, scrolling down through the page. \u201cEven ones you no longer have, like your original Dragon tattoo\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWait,\u201d I said. \u201c Scroll back up. There, my daughter\u2019s name. Why is that a link?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe she has a Wikipedia page too,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Something cold ran up my spine. &#8220;Click on it,&#8221; I said quietly.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why is Dakota so worried?
